CLEMSON – Another year of

Dabo Swinney Now on to the camp: When we arrived on campus early this morning, 5-star defensive tackle propsect
Tim Settle Tim Settle I’m sure by now you’ve all seen the pictures of Swinney, 2015 linebacker commit
Chad Smith Chad Smith Will any of that make a difference once Settle makes a decision? It’s hard to tell, but I’ve talked to several people close to the situation and they feel like Clemson is in good shape. We will have more on Settle later. *Another golf cart rider this morning was 2015 DL prospect
Austin Bryant Austin Bryant One of the reasons Clemson has had more of a “family” feel at this camp is because the NCAA is allowing current football players to work summer camps at their respective schools. In the past, colleges have relied on high school coaches and NCAA Division II, III and NAIA coaches to run drills along with current assistants. The new rule gives campers — many of whom may be seeking scholarship offers — a chance to interact with the players. The current players don’t directly coach the prospects, but they know the drills that are being run and can help out the coaches. Prospects also get to see how the current players interact with each other on and off the field, and how they interact with the coaches. Perhaps Bryant has seen some of that this week. *2016 RB

and recruiting coordinator Thad Turnipseed talking to Settle Saturday, and it appeared that Swinney was giving him the hard sell. I spoke to a few people from the Virginia group this morning, and they said that while Swinney was definitely giving the Clemson pitch, he was also throwing in some life lessons along the way. Included in that pitch? Grades and growing up and turning into a man and getting ready for the next step.

out of Thomasville (GA). Bryant hasn’t worked out at the camp, but he has been a big presence all three days. The word I am hearing is that Bryant has enjoyed his time on campus, and that he considers Clemson a “happy” place.

, the king of the one-liners, threw out another one. As Feaster approached the running backs, Elliott never missed a beat while hollering at Feaster, “Oh, look who decided to finally show up. It’s your world, man. The rest of us are just living in it.”

of Kentwood (LA). It didn’t take long to recognize Carter as the best of the group working out this morning, and a little research led us to his name. He was at Georgia yesterday, and already has offers from Alabama, Texas A&M and Mississippi St.

this morning. Florida St. offered last week, and he said he didn’t know if Clemson was going to offer or not. However, he said that Brown weighed in at 212 pounds at FSU last week, and was 191 pounds at this time last year. Looking at his lanky frame, I can see him adding another 20 or 30 pounds without really losing any of his explosiveness.

during the morning session. At 6-6 and almost 270 pounds, Robinson stood out among the group I watched. He’s got the power you need, and did well during the tackling drills. He has a Clemson offer, along with Florida St. and Tennessee. Another one to watch out of that 2016 recruiting class.
