Clemson Baseball 24th In Baseball America Preseason Poll |
CLEMSON, S.C.-Baseball America magazine tabbed the Clemson baseball team 24th in its annual preseason college baseball poll released on Tuesday.
Clemson is one of four ACC teams listed in the poll. Florida State, Georgia Tech and defending ACC Champion Wake Forest were the others. The Tigers, who begin practice on Saturday, will look to improve on a 42-27 record from a year ago. Clemson advanced to an NCAA Super Regional in 1999, where the Tigers were three outs away from advancing to the College World Series before losing to Texas A&M. For the second time in three seasons, Baseball America has given Stanford of the Pacific-10 Conference the No. 1 ranking in its preseason Top 25 college baseball poll. The staff of Baseball America determines the Top 25 rankings. Records indicated are 1999 final records. Rank Team '99 Record '99 Rank
