Why is pointless to rank the playoff teams

Everyone is talking about how Alabama or OH State is miles ahead of everyone else because other teams have struggled against weaker opponents (i.e. Clemson) or have not played tough competition (i.e Washington). What they are not considering is the fact that you are giving good teams 4 weeks to prepare for one game. Look how well Troy played us after preparing for us all summer. Outside of where the game will be played the rankings 1-4 means nothing. Anyone can beat anyone so no need to waste time trying to further dissect the top 4.
