All the attention on the QB's but honestly a lot more positions offer some intrigue into how good (or bad) they really are.
Some of these guys need to step up, and really should be their last chance. If they're an upperclassman and still can't figure it out, it's just not happening for them.
Outside of Cole, microscope falls on:
* DJ Howard- very little confidence we're going to see anything from him. If he runs into the line again, and falls down after 1/2 yard gain, it's time to move on.
* J Leggett- just seems like he's in a funk. Has JJ Mc overtaken him? Way too much talent to not be better than what he's shown so far
* Humphries- NEED to get Tay Scott on the field. AH is really in the same position as Cole. Cannot keep our most explosive WR on the bench
* M Alexander- are we FINALLY gonna find out what we have here. Pretty excited to see him matchup on the FSU receivers. UGA didn't test him, SC St. couldn't execute an offensive snap
* Lakip- he gets a pass on the UGA "kick". Time to see if we have a kicker or not
* Chad and Brent- i think these coordinators, amongst the highest paid in the country, have a little bit of pressure on them. Venables D given up 49 and 51 to FSU last two times out. Chad didn't have a good play calling day game # 1, and FSU last year wasn't much better. Wanna see this offense click vs top tier defenses. So frustrating to see Spur testing the UGA secondary, and Chad afraid to throw the ball past the line of scrimmage.
A lot more to this game than just Cole v Watson
Some of these players need to either show up or move to the back of the line and let the Fr or RS Fr get meaningful playing time.
We are gonna need some solid blocking from our TE in this game against FSU and Seckinger and Leggett are liabilities in that area. Seckinger tries his best but just isn't big/strong enough and Leggett just seems to absolutely hate blocking. IMO Jay Jay should definitely be the starter at TE. He is superior when it comes to blocking and seems to catch the ball just as well either Leggett or Seckinger.
