Spurrier on Clemson winning BCS Bowl

Slurrier is an idiot.....

[5]
Posted: Jul 22, 2014 10:43 AM

Danny never coached a BCS team - it wasn't around then.

Yeah, that quote made no sense. Nobody's forgetting about Danny Ford's team.
Also, Dabo said nothing about Pluto being a planet. He just said Spurrier is from there.
Spurrier's getting a bit senile.

Re: Slurrier is an idiot.....

Dabo's quote was "I have great respect for Coach (Steve) Spurrier, but we're just from different planets. He's from Pluto, I'm from Mars."

So yes, Dabo does think that Pluto is a planet.

Re: Slurrier is an idiot.....

Posted: Jul 22, 2014 1:28 PM

Nevermind then. That first part of the quote was left out of both articles on tigernet and the tweet from espn.

Technically....

It's a dwarf planet. So....

Posted: Jul 23, 2014 5:18 AM

It is not a moon, it is not a comet, it is not a meteor, it is not a star, so ### is it? It is a planet you freaking drunkard. Stevo needs to go drink some more.

dabo? Pluto is a dwarf planet based on it can not hold its own gravity....sounds like bouncing all the place coots and slurrier to me.

Re: Slurrier is an idiot.....

Dabo said him and Spurrier are from different planets. So actually he did say something about planets. I think whoever wrote this article didn't include the whole qoute

And it's not around now. But the Orange Bowl is. All I know is two teams in this state have bowl trophies. One team ended up ranked 4th and the other below that. Kinda takes the shine off the letters "bcs".

Not really. Clemson won the Orange Bowl. Something

it has done 3 times more than USuC.

SPURRIER WAS INDEED CORRECT. we have won the orange bowl more than once. we have also won the sugar bowl. we have also won the cotton bowl. we have won most every bowl there is except the rose and fiesta. just wondering what your list looks like.

Re: Slurrier is an idiot.....

[1]
Posted: Jul 22, 2014 11:55 AM

No, Spurrier was incorrect. The discussion was re. BCS bowls, not Orange Bowls. Coach Ford never fielded a Clemson team during the BCS era.

Re: Slurrier is an idiot.....

gosh, pardon me. of course he did not. geeeeeez.

Yeah, thought so...

F you coot!!! Better scurry on back to CCI! Lol

The only thing that could take the shine off the trophy. Would be if it were in an empty trophy case like the one at usuc. The reason your trophy case is empty is b/c you have always sucked. The only thing that has changed is the day, and you have won 5 straight against Clemson. And even with 5 straight, you're still not even close to our win record over you. Now you did get close to the 7 straight we own over you. And don't say it was a long time ago b/c, look how long it took you to just get close to the 7. Also, your fan base will forever be proud of your 5, just as we are with our 7. You're still a loser to us b/c you can't get your over all record even close to us. That will have to be an argument for our great, great, great grand children to have b/c it won't get close enough for us to argue over in this century. We have been the best for over 100 years, and I'm betting it won't be a change at the 200 year mark. I didn't make it that way, Clemson beating usuc made it that way. And you don't have an argument when using the absolute facts. It will be easy to tell if usuc ever tops Clemson. Your whole fan base won't be using a win over Clemson to measure how good you were that year.

They like to brag about their conference's strength and then whine when it doesn't allow them to win a trophy that matters

Re: I am tired of his comments about them not getting to go to

Posted: Jul 28, 2014 2:38 PM

if we had beat Tennessee we would have been in the same situation as MIZZOU. win SEC championship game and go to BCS championship, or lose and no BCS. If you look at the last three years it was the same situation, essentially the only BCS game we had a possibility of going to was the national championship.

I'm not complaining about the situation bc i believe the benefits of the SEC outweigh the negatives, just pointing out the facts.

So you don't think SCar with only an early loss at

UGA would have a shot over Bama who lost in late November? Wow.

A two loss USC

Would have gone above a one loss Alabama?

If that was the case why didn't we get it anyway?

if we finished with one loss, we would be in the SEC champ game. win that and were in the Naty, lose and we have two losses and Bama still goes to Sugar.

Re: I am tired of his comments about them not getting to go to

Posted: Jul 31, 2014 12:20 PM

If you weren't in that conference you wouldn't have received all the hype and the early and sustained rankings you get. Your team is much improved since you got spurlid as your coach, and he is a very good X's and O's coach. You have, however, weakened your already pitiful standards for admission of jocks, but you have sunk to a new low in your degree of integrity and sleaze.

Dabo was just being polite....

He didn't want to say Spurrious was from Uranus.

three points:

[2]
Posted: Jul 22, 2014 11:21 AM

1) beat them and he will shut up;
2) beat them and UGA and we will go to a better bowl than they do;
3) the nanosecond that he finally decides to give it up and retire, SC will go back to being a SEC cellar dweller and our annual whipping boy.

FAT TAX NOW!

What a jerk.

Somehow, someway, WE MUST BEAT USuC this year, or else Dabo's got a lot of explaining to do. This is getting ridiculous, losing to the F'ing chickens 5 straight...UNACCEPTABLE.

Thank you sir, you have won the daily prize! This is nothing new, Frank Howard and the many SC coaches were doing the same thing in the 40's, 50's and 60's.....just not with the same upside as in this all access age. Now the entire nation is aware of our intrastate rivalry, while Dabo and Spurrier are generating priceless publicity and national press coverage for both schools, simply because of the imaginary "feud".

Posted: Jul 22, 2014 11:55 AM

The only way the guy shuts up is if Clemson beats him, repeatedly. If Clemson beats him this year and goes into Columbia and beats him the following year, he'll shut up. More likely, he'll retire.

Until then, he knows his fan base eats up those comments (understandably so) and he in turn eats up the attention.

Re: FB Update: Spurrier on Clemson winning BCS Bowl

Posted: Jul 22, 2014 11:46 PM

You know why everybody is so bent out of shape about Spurrier's comments? Because he's usually right. Now is he a low-class prick? Yeah definitely. But the bottom line is we're 3-6 against him, and on a 5 game losing streak. And last year we went to the Orange Bowl because of the BCS system, not because we deserved it. A team that comes up lame against 2 out of the 3 good teams it plays doesn't deserve that spot, but we got it because FSU made it to the national championship, and they couldn't select more than 2 SEC teams. Granted we made the most of it and knocked off a top-10 team once we got there. So when Spurrier spouts off a not-so-subtle complaint that his team deserved a BCS game more than we did, he's got a point. And when he talks about his team owning Clemson recently, he's not wrong. And when Clemson fans come back with the overall record, Spurrier's drinking habits, or USC's arrest record, it sounds petty and it sounds like sour grapes about the on-field results. There's only one way to change all of that. Beat them on our field this November and turn the tables. Make Spurrier start to talk about the past glory days of 2009-13, the "brutal" schedule his team has to endure before playing Clemson, or how his players aren't performing up to his level, and he'll go back to being the drunk, bitter uncle that makes ridiculous statements that everybody laughs at.
