USC has a tougher over all schedule than ours!
Texas A&M UGA UF Missou TENN Auburn.

UGA is a wash, USC at Clemson is a wash... we have one team FSU on the schedule that is likely better than any on USCs,,, but they have A&M, UF, Tenn, and Auburn who are likely better than anyone else on our sched!

I actually love the idea of "premier league" style CFB

Drop Conference Alignments. Run a 48-team top-tier league split by 24-team conferences and 6-team divisions. Those not in the top-tier form lower-tier leagues.

Retain the 12-game schedule and require 10 games within the respective league (teams will retain at least one rival opponent).

At the end of the season is an 8-team playoff. Bowl selections will still occur with no league preference; 6-win season will still be a requirement.

After the season, the bottom 8 teams from each league drop to the lower tier for the next year while the top 8 teams advance (Calculated by total wins, not necessitated by division... because some divisions will just suck). For this purpose, a win over higher-tier league team counts as 2 wins (to encourage low-tiers to play up).
