all of lsu's tv money reportedly goes back into the school

and not to the football program.
louisiana has pulled roughly $100 million in state funding toward lsu over the last 3 years.
i expect this sort of short-sheeting toward a lot of state schools as tv revenues become too large to ignore. it is income generated. why should the tax payers be asked to pony up when these monies can be used to offset funding similar to lottery dollars?

needs to be real for lsu to affect change.
i would imagine the tv look-in would be a big boon for the big12ish if lsu and a fsu type program joined. they would add $30mil plus just for a ccg.
again, probably doesn't happen, but sitting at the sec table holding cards is better than holding none. the 2 conferences aren't far apart in tv money and lsu's road to the top would be far less treacherous.

1. The prestige can't be matched 2. Equal revenue-sharing 3. History? Not with Big 12 teams 4. Geography is critical 5. Better the devil you know.
"In the end, the SEC is where LSU will stay", according to the article.
They gave detailed reasons under each of the 5 above reasons to stay.

lsu is upset, for the good reasons given and even though they should stay, "It wouldn’t hurt one bit for LSU to do a little saber-rattling to get the SEC’s attention, to give greater voice to its concerns."

Their big beef seems to be scheduling. I suspect that when the SEC inevitably goes to 9 games, that might not be an issue.

I think everyone realizes the CFA bowl is one of the better matchups but LSU is probably better than UGA, UF and TAMU on a neutral field and all those teams got better bowls. Their fans are not happy and they feel like they get screwed on bowl selection a lot.

Based on what I read, it's not the bowl situation. It is that they have Florida as their permanent opponent.

This article is stupid. The fans don't want out of the SEC as this idiot suggests, they just want some changes. There is no exit fee in the SEC for a reason. Most would be willing to pay to get in....no one wants out. Idiotic article at best.
