Smith was blowhard trying to gain credibility and “play the game”

My belief is that Smith was on the verge of getting dirty and playing up his value in these talks to try to gain credibility. Report said he wasn’t worthy of getting paid because had no influence and I’m sure Smith could sense that in talks. I’m sure he has buddies that are assistants at some of these other schools that directed him to Glazer, etc. “Hey bro, you need to get hooked up with these guys. They paying big bucks homie”. That’s exactly how it went down and he embellished things to act like he was connected to some underworld that would play the game.
