Updated NCAA Tournament projections place Clemson in top-4 seeds

by - Staff Writer -

Clemson's resume speaks for itself and has bracketologists higher on the Tigers than the polls.

With a No. 7-rated RPI and No. 21 strength of schedule, the 15-2 Tigers (4-1 ACC) are projected as a 3-seed in the Midwest by CBS Sports. ESPN also sends Clemson to the Midwest as a 4-seed.

Anything higher than 4-seed come March would be a program-best NCAA Tournament placement.

Brad Brownell's Tigers have won 11 of the last 12 games. That run includes wins over two ranked opponents going into a matchup at No. 20 UNC (14-4, 3-2), where they seek a first-ever win in Chapel Hill (7 p.m./RSN).

Clemson entered Monday ranked as high as No. 17 (Coaches Poll) and split games last week at NC State (78-77 loss) and at home versus No. 18 Miami (72-63 win). In Monday's new Associated Press poll, the Tigers dropped one spot to No. 20.

The Tigers are up to No. 15 in the KenPom ratings - behind the strength of a No. 12-rated defense - ahead of a meeting with No. 9 UNC (No. 21 offense/No. 11 defense).
