No, he doesn't. I think people need to stop reporting and reacting to the whims of college kids.
Imagine: A story a week/month from now that goes over how Dye struggled with his current football situation to the point of considering transferring. By then, we may even be able to see some positive things that have occurred because he hit rock bottom (in his football life).
Instead we have instant access to the kid's struggles and people get to comment about them.
Thank god no one could follow my decision making processes when I was in Clemson. Of course, no one would have cared.

He must be a big Brett Favre fan! ha ha. I'm glad to see him stay b/c he's got potential. I've met him a couple times,he seems like a nice kid. I was suprised to hear he was going to transfer. Get your head on straight son, and go to work!

He did not practice all week. He got mad and quit b/c Dabo gave the job to Brandon Clear after dropping the pass against Middle Tenn. He knew what would happen if he couldn't do his job. He did not want to practice with the team and asked for a release and Dabo called his bluff. It should be the last time too. Quote from Xavier Dye in March of 2009 on CUTigers.com “Every play and every ball that comes your way, I don’t care if it is a one-handed catch, you have to make it,” Dye said. “This game is about production. That’s the only way you are going to play is to perform. “That’s the only way (Swinney) is going to allow you to play for him.” “To play for him you have to be a productive player,” Dye said. “That is the main thing. You have to go out and look the best you can. He is watching and he knows what this guy is doing and he can tell if this guy really wants it.”

Glad to see Dye is staying. We could use the depth/size @ WR.
Wish people wouldn't be so quick to jump on a story and allow things to work themselves out...

Don't think it was that quick, he did on Sunday after the team watched films and it was reiterated that no body can drop passes. They were told that Clear was taking Dye's place. Dabo said he has met with Dye twice already this week. That is not quick.

This is Rediculous

He needs to be helped out of the door. If he can't make up his mind about high school or college, someone apparently needs to make up his mind for him. Why let controversy follow him into a developing program? It's nothing more than a distraction. Yes, we've all had moments where we've changed our minds, but I'm sure we were not in as large of a spotlight, with team members' performances, growth and reputation on the line. No room for inconsistency here. If you can't make up your mind on the field, how can you expect to score? Make a decision and stick with it...right, wrong or indifferent, but make a decision and stand by it! You'll gain more respect from other and yourself if you are consistent, but not with indecision.

Remember, CDS is ALL In for the players. It has always been about the players for him. I really like Dabo. He is demonstrating the right way to do it in all ways so far. Showing patience with this kid is just one more way to help the kid grow up. That doesn't mean he is willing to play somebody that is not giving 100%. It only means that he doesn't want to throw the kid to the wolves. Shows great leadership. Go Dabo and Go Tigers!

Sometimes it takes a little wake-up call from someone else ( coach )to redirect our feelings and or open our eyes!!! There are many good and trusted people that have faced similar situations in life. Ease up on the young man and see how he reacts to this adverse situation. You never know. Besides for right now he is a TIGER!!!!!!

"This has been a test of the Emergency Blogging Service. Had this been an actually emergency it would have been followed by actual whines and boos from the peanut gallery."
I'm sure this was a just a ploy to confuse the BC defense in their weekly preparation. It seems to have confused a bunch of us fans.
Go Tigers!!!

Well I say good for Dabo the way he handeled it. Dye is a good example of guys who were stars in peewee through high school and suddenly find out that everyone at this level has talent. Hopefully he has now learned a good lesson about life and will live up to his potentail. Good he learned now he has to produce to be successful. I wish him the best and hope we see his name on the ring of honor one day. GO TIGERS - ALL IN
