Tyran Mathieu is the most overrated player in college…..

football. He got all of this hype because of his kick off and punt returns, and that he was on an SEC team that was number one in the nation. As a corner he is average at best. He got smoked the whole gome against West Virginia, when WVU racked up over 500 yards of offense against LSU's defense.

Just a point...........he can't be the most overrated player in college football. He no longer is a college football player!

Not an FBS school if he wants to play this year

Which I'm sure he does. He'll go to a FCS school and jump into the draft this year.

actally he is ineligible to play at any ncaa school if its true that he failed his third drug test...you have to be in good standing at your previous institution which hes not

Not disputing what you're saying b/c I don't know the rules

on that, but if it is true why are a bunch of people reporting he is going to McNeese St instead of saying he's done with football?

If hes transferring to an ncaa institution then lsu must be allowing him to stay in school...I could be wrong but I think the rule is if the school kicks you out then you cant transfer to another ncaa instituiton since you are not in good standing with your previous one..

So are punt and kick returns not a part of the game??? If I remember correctly some of Spiller's biggest moments came on punt and kick returns.

I'm talking about as an overall player. Spiller was much...

more than a kick return specialist, Spiller was a good running back who was also a good receiver. My point is he had no business being a Heisman finalist and that he isn't one of the best players in college football. Nice player to have, but as an overall player he isn't that great.

You are right. He inherited that title after Stephon Gilmore left the Coots early!

if you paid attention to Tryan Mathieu play as a corner last year you could tell he wasn't great. And football experts have said this.

I agree, he isn't a good CB at all. If you watched the WV game, he got burnt more than the Ford brothers did here. Andy and Peter.

For all you idiots saying he was overrated and saying he was just a return guy... think of this... he had 0 TD's scored against him this year. How many DBs in the country can say that. Also, for those who think he is just a return guy, look up how many turnovers he caused.
Think before you guys say stupid sh!t

He wasn't great in coverage. If you watched many LSU

games it was evident that coverage wasn't his strength. He's fantastic on the corner blitz, and he's a good return man.
The insane talent surrounding him at LSU allowed him to gamble and be aggressive, and also helped mask his weakness in coverage.
