Rebounding was a problem for this team tonight.

You got the win Tigers but... Out rebounded 44-28... How can that even happen? 18 offensive rebounds to 4? What the #%? No wonder we have these long scoring droughts. The game should not have even been close. We've got to fix some things quickly. Come on Tigers!!!

We do not crash the boards and no one blocks out.

Agree, it’s coaching. Most of the time this team is running away from the basket when the ball goes up.

We have been a great rebounding team all year. This game is an outlier

Rebounding is probably 80% luck and 20% skill.

Rebounding is all about hustle and skill. There is a lot of understanding of angles involved to predict where the ball will come off the board. Then you have to hustle to get in the right position. I was an undersized guy who played a lot of basketball and many times had bigger guys comment on how many rebounds I got at my size. It’s all about angles, hustle and timing.
That said, luck did play a part for Louisville's offensive rebounding last night because some of their shots were so bad they did not come off the board at the normally expected angle.

And it seemed like we had a size advantage most of the night. Definitely a concern.

This board is like robots.
Anytime we do something poorly....COACHING....WE HAVE SUCKED ALL YEAR.....DERP.
The fact is that we are one of the best defensive rebounding teams in the ACC. We are top 4 in the ACC in total rebounds, and 8th (middle of the pack) in the ACC in offensive rebounding per game
Most of their offensive rebounds came from terrible bricks thrown up, or blocked shots that fell into their hands.
Definitely room for improvement, but to say thy we are a bad rebounding team is blatantly false.

Exactly. We outrebounded Duke 42-33.

Amazingly, I didn’t see any of these same people saying that we did a great job rebounding in that game, even though we had more defensive rebounds (31-29) and more offensive rebounds (11-4).

We have outrebounded the last 4 teams we have played prior to the game last night.
Since it was poor coaching last night, i can only assume it was AMAZING coaching the prior 4 games. Is this how it works?

Don't be so sensitive. They had a bad rebounding game and need to get it corrected. Everything is not an agenda. Go Tigers!!!

Part of the problem last night was that a lot of Louisvilles shots

were way off. Long shots that miss can bounce funny anyway, and that is compounded with bad misses.
A rational fan would give our defense some credit for playing good defense and forcing bad shots, but I haven’t seen any of that here. Holding them to 34.4% shooting overall, and just 10% on threes, is great defense. We should celebrate that.
More misses = more chances for offensive rebounds.

Louisville out-rebounded Clemson on the offensive boards 21-4, and had a 19 rebound advantage overall. There is no positive spin to put on that.

Part of it was the zone defense

Typically offensive rebounds increase against a zone….at least that seems to be the case. And there were some awkward misses on their part. But Louisville also outworked us at certain times. The bigger issue was our offense down the stretch, especially the turnovers, random double dribbles, etc. Not sure why a team with this much experience is doing that sort of stuff down the stretch.

Well, when your #2 rebounder is outside jacking up bricked 3's, it's hard to get those rebounds.
