I'm still voting for Kasich. Trump will prolly win VA.

can't bring myself to strategize otherwise. Gotta vote Kasich WHEN FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE I GET TO VOTE FOR A GUY I LIKE, not the lesser of dislikes. I'm not buying the "rally behind Rubio" ruse.

He'll be in Roanoke. No idea about his ability to deliver or the quality of his touring band. But I'll be there to find out.

Brian Wilson and his band are better than the Beach Boys. If you like Brian Wilson you're gonna love the show. I have seen them three times in the last five years. Worth every penny - especially if he includes songs from his last year's release, "No Pier Pressure." Great album. The only draw back is that Jeffrey Foskett is back touring with the Beach Boys. He is Brian Wilson's falsetto back up for those harmonies Wilson can't reach anymore. If they are in Roanoke maybe they will make it up here.

Rally behind Rubio makes no sense to me... why? The 3rd place candidate with a poor record that he lies about? The empty suit that speaks in 30 second memorized speeches handed to him by his campaign staff? "Rubio, explain to us how you were a member of a 8 member immigration team and displayed terrible negotiation skills. Explain how you let experienced Democrat politicians turn you into their b*tch." He cannot even handle Chris Christie, any politician with experience would eat him alive. It's not just a possibly, it's reality. Him stuttering through some shallow insults? "Rubio, explain amnesty." Rubio's response started just like Obama..."Let me be perfectly clear, I have not changed my view.... and Trump is a watch selling tramp wearing a CHINESE NECK TIE." Yeah, that's what I want in a President, a punk dispelling YouTube comments. No way. He is absolutely last of all the past and present candidates. The fact that Fox News and all the establishment candidates are getting behind him should be a red flag. He is an empty suit. /end rant

Vote for who you like, but realize that just helps Trump in VA

I would hope that people who like Rubio and Cruz won't be so beholden to a candidate in states where someone other than the guy they like is on second.

I'd take any of Rubio/ Kasich/ or Cruz. Rubio or Kasich are the most electable, so they're preferable to Cruz. But, at this point, it's more important to stop Trump.
Generally, though, I'm not attached to any candidate. I just want the most conservative guy who can win.

Unlike Trump, I don't have the best words. I have words, but not the best words.
In my view, Trump is the one to go all out against. He's in no way conservative, presidential, and can do none of the things he says he can do because that's not in the power of the office. He comes across as a lout and a buffoon, and his least common denominator speech content is scary in that people buy it.
I would say that he's a realization of A Face in the Crowd's Lonesome Rhodes, but since Katrina van den Heuvel said that two days ago, I can't come off agreeing with her.

Vote for whom you believe is the right person for President. If the wrong person wins, it's the fault of the people who voted for him, not you.

for Hillary...that makes no sense. How is a vote for a third party candidate any more a vote for the Democrat than the Republican, when in reality it's a vote for neither.

ideological fantasy world is "a bunch of junk" too
I believe the following:
- Clinton will win a general against Trump easily - Rubio (or Kasich) has a very good chance of beating Clinton in the general
Therefore...IF you agree with that line of thinking, logic dictates that voting for Trump in the primary is essentially helping secure that Clinton will be POTUS.
For me, Kasich is my first choice, but I'll be voting for Rubio today in the GA primary. I like Rubio too and understand he has a better chance of keeping Trump from the nomination that Kasich does.
I would not fault anyone for voting for Kasich, but to me, it is a wasted vote.

That is no more a wasted vote than a vote for someone who gets 100%.
That line of thinking is why we're in this mess where someone can only be President if they are in one of two parties, not matter how bad both parties are.

the system. There is a practical impact of your vote, but not a systematic one.
I'm using the term "wasted" in the practical/mathematical sense and not an ideological sense.

You may as well vote for what you believe in. I have the exact same opinion as Prod on this one. Voting for who you think others will vote for is truly the only wasted vote.

Candidate, people will vote for him just to keep Hillary out?
Essentially what you are saying is the same thing that Cam said last week, and that more people are against him than for him, and everyone that is for other candidates wouldn't vote for him in the general election.

but for me personally, I would have a very hard choice to make between Trump and Hillary...and I can't stand Hillary and have never voted for a dem in a national election before (and have never even considered it).
I know there are lot of people in my same situation. I had this conversation with my in my county GOP group. I don't believe it takes anywhere near "everyone" to not vote for him to sway the national result. If I had to vote right now...there's a 50% chance I would vote for Hillary over Trump and that disgusts me. I may have to consider going libertarian or some other 3rd party...which is, in effect, a vote for Hillary.

In a primary like this, there isn't that big of a difference between somebody like Kasich and somebody like Rubio. But there's a huge difference between non-Trumps and Trumps. So I don't think Republicans should focus on who they personally like right now so much as they should be focused on stopping Trump. There's just a lot more at stake in not nominating Trumo than there is difference between Kasich and Rubio.
