If the reverse happened, I don't think Dabo would take a kid from Carolina who flamed out at Clemson like Chad did. I don't think either school would do that. Just sayin.

Dabo wouldn't, but he is so different from spurlid in the character arena. There is no comparison. And, yes, I know spurlid has won a few games in a row. So what? It's doubtful any of us on here will live long enough to see scu even the series.

Well, in case you haven't noticed, in college football the coach recruits the kid, not the other way around.

Case in point, U of Miami, Jim Kelly's alma mater wouldn't touch Chad because of his rep, and I'm sure Jim wanted him to go there.

Hey forcertain, you obviously live in a hole! ANY kid that spurrier thinks may have potential, he will take no matter what kind of head case or disciplinary he is. He has no morals or care for his playas. Breaking #### records and winning are his only concerns.

Sorry. I don't think either Spurrier or Dabo would take a player off their chief rival's team in a case similar to that of Chad Kelly. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think so.

Wouldn't we all just live to know what happens with him and dabo ?
To mention that specifically means something crazy happened. Dabo is great but is not kicking anyone off the team for a heated yap fest with coaches during a spring game or some incident with a shouting match with former miss sc
Keep in mind joe Craig he and his girl went to the hospital with stitches and an acceptance that he hit her with a towel rod and she cut him with a razor blade. Not kicked off. A bit more worrisome than yapping with coaches or backing into someone's car.
He mentions dabo situation in letter. I think a family member who is embarrassed by a phone call from dabo explaining what really happened in the office knows the whole story and wrote a letter for swag.
Who really ever knows unless they were there

Apparently you don't know too much about Clemson..... What Craig did was during track season. There were other issues leading up to it that the Track coach at the time didn't let Dabo know about.
That is why you didn't have anymore football players running track after that.

If Clowney had been dismissed from Carolina last year after an incident similar to Kelly's, would you have wanted to see him in a Tiger uniform?

I think his scholarship is gone and would have to be earned back, if at all.
He probably has better chances elsewhere. I can't imagine Swinney dropped the boom. The odds are better that he was given nearly every chance to avoid dismissal and just kept pushing it so there was no choice. Hard for a coach to reverse himself if so.

But this would feel a lot more earnest to me if he came from him and not a third party. Especially a third party that has no real tie to him or the school.
But I certainly wish him a full recovery from the mistakes and a bright future! Just sorry it wasn't in orange......well, Clemson orange. Could another orange be in his future??

Chad's statement came from one of his uncles, Dan Kelly. The statement was released to the media and a media guy from Syracuse posted it on twitter.

Evidently, the alleged Capri Sun incident, or whatever happened in that meeting, was the very last straw for Chad's Clemson career.

Chad is a young kid who God gave a tremendous amount of talent to. His enthusiasm just gets the best of him. He needs to learn to control that and he will. I support Dabo in his decision. It sends a message to the others on the team that he won't have this type of behavior, no matter how good you are. I REALLY like that. Chad will move on, no doubt. It is never easy to say "I'm sorry", especially for a young kid. I wish him well. Stout is solid, both on and off the field, and we need that consistency. I like where Clemson is headed!

I personally except your apology Chad if, if you will take a step back and look for the answers that led you to your melt down at Clemson. I personally wish you the very best at what ever program you end up at except for the coots. That would cause me to wish, hope, and pray for you to have the very worst of luck. Good luck young man, and hopefully you can find a way back into the good graces Coach Swinney and staff. And just maybe work yourself back into the Clemson Tiger FB program... Regardless of where you end up playing, you will always be a Tiger first!!!

...he is saving face for the future. The kid has a lot of growing up to do. The future will show whether he has learned anything. Better off somewhere else.
