Easily the most childish posters on the board.
These coaches make millions a year. It's ok to want them to be held accountable.
The only delusional fans are the ones who defend Elliot and believe there's nothing wrong with the program.
Being critical of our football program does not make you a "coot".
Mindlessly praising and dismissing any criticism of our football program does not make you a "true fan".

A win is a win, but the ineptness on offense cannot be ignored. This is an historically bad offense for Clemson with much more talent than others.

"This is an historically bad offense for Clemson"
Did you just start watching Clemson in the playoff era? Man, I've seen much, much, worse offenses at Clemson.
No doubt, it is the worst offense in the Swinney era since 2010, but it is not a "historically bad offense".

The offense that got Tommy West fired scored 142 points through 6 games. This team has scored 123 and is loaded compared to 1998. And Tommy West ran the wishbone.

No, it doesn't make you a spoiled fan. DO you think CEO's are celebrated for making $1 profits? This is a program with everything it needs to be a national contender EVERY year. And the staff is paid accordingly. There is no excuse for the total horse crap show that the offense is putting on the field.

Not really if you have high expectations for the program. This team wont be good next year either more than likely. People don't want a couple of lost years. They want to compete for National Titles. There is no reason why we shouldn't easily run the table on impressive fashion in the ACC.

Lee Trevino once said, "Dogs chasing cars and pros putting for pars don't last long." That's the quote that I think about each week watching these games. Yes we won the game, but when you keep giving teams the opportunity to win in the 4th quarter it will bite us in the butt from time to time.
Maybe we can add Tigers scoring in the teens to that list.

The players are making lots of money thru NIL. Makes them open to criticism too in my book. This team - the coaches, the players are a big disappointment.

I am trying hard not to say "Elliot sucks" because I really like the guy and it's not cool.
But, he is making 2 million a year though, and will make more in two years than 90% of Americans in their lifetimes so there's that. It's a high-pressure job and you get judged on results.
I really was pulling for Elliot before this game. I really wanted to be wrong. He is not a good OC in my opinion though.

I believe that TE is a pretty smart man, but I don't believe that he has had enough OC experience to scheme an offense. He was taught by one coach that was a HS head coach, that became a college OC, and after trying to be a college HC, he failed, and now he is back coaching HS FB. TE needs OC training by an experienced OC that has been scheming college offenses most of their college coaching careers, and like I said, TE is a pretty smart man, and he could be a good college OC if he was taught by another experience college OC!!!!!!!

I don't hate on players nor do I say we're terrible. This is a typical sunshine pumper post to deflect legitimate criticism from the program. There are plenty of fans that have reasonable takes on the issues of our program. However, we're called "coots" or bandwagon fans for bringing them up.

Nobody is defending anyone. It’s just we’re all tired of you armchair warriors who say the same stuff every week, hate on players and coaches and say how terrible we are and don’t deserve to win.
If this makes you this unhappy then do yourself and everyone else a favor and quit watching and posting. Do you think the constant negativity helps improve anything at all? No, all it does is let some opposing fans and potential recruits see how fairweather and even pathetic some of our fan base is.

Coaches get paid to win. Doesn't matter by 2 or by 50. A win is a win. Not every win is pretty but every win is a win. Coaches are accountable and will be accountable when the time comes but if this team ends up 11-2 with an ACC championship and a Orange Bowl win by winning every game 17-14 is the fan base not allowed to celebrate?

It's not "childish" to point out the primary issues are
Oct 15, 2021, 11:29 PM
|
|
QB and OL.
The brain behind the plays is the same one who has been the primary contributor to the greatest years in Clemson history. Did he forget how to call plays, starting this year? Or are we not executing as well?
This offense has led us to 6 straight playoffs, 4 national title games, and 2 national titles. This same offense was 10th in the country with the 6th rated passing offense last year. There was no drop off when DJ came in, and he set records in Death Valley and South Bend.
DJ is not playing with the same confidence or form this year. And do you think the OL has played well this year? Same offensive playbook, different results.
It's IMPOSSIBLE to have a consistently good offense when the two most important positions (of any offense) are not doing their jobs. You can insert any offensive coordinator and any offensive scheme you want, but if the QB and OL don't do their jobs well then the product is not going to be good.
That's not childish, at all. That's football 101.

Do you seriously believe this is an intelligent comeback?
I expect that our OC making 2 million a year should be able to take his loaded roster and score points against inferior opponents.

From time to time I see people making personal remarks about the players, and I will agree that is uncalled for. However, why shouldn't somebody criticize the play? If kids can be praised for doing well they should be open for criticism for under performing. That doesn't mean that I agree with all of the criticism, but this isn't peewee football.

You got on the bandwagon 3 years ago. You're not one to come in and lecture real-long time Clemson fans on who and what we are. We've been here through the tough times, you haven't. Go away.

I actually graduated from Clemson.
You're an idiot with no argument, and you called me a "Coot", just as I said sunshine pumpers like would.

At this rate, when does to our offense become a strength? What's the timeframe?

Easily the most childish posters on the board.
These coaches make millions a year. It's ok to want them to be held accountable.
The only delusional fans are the ones who defend Elliot and believe there's nothing wrong with the program.
Being critical of our football program does not make you a "coot".
Mindlessly praising and dismissing any criticism of our football program does not make you a "true fan".

There is nothing wrong with the PROGRAM. There is something amiss this SEASON. Wanting to take a flame thrower to the program is highly irrational.

There is something amiss with the program.
Hiring former Clemson players with little coaching experience to your offensive staff has reared its ugly head. Why is every coach Dabo hires these days one of his former players? We need major changes on the offensive side of the ball.

Not defending anything but this coaching staff has equity. Dabo has some time to fix it not years and years but a few seasons. If some of you Johnny come latelys can’t comprehend then f&;k off.

Sunshine pumpers kept Tommy Bowden around 4 years longer than he should have been here. And they will keep TE here 4 years longer than he should be here.
