4-star 2018 linebacker Jake Venables from Central, South Carolina has committed to Clemson according to his Twitter account.
"First and foremost I would like to thanks God for making all of this possible," Venables tweeted. "I'd like to also say Happy Birthday to my dad! I want to thank my family and everybody that has encouraged, inspired, and supported me throughout this entire process. I want to thank Coach Swinney and the entire Clemson coaching staff for believing in me and giving me this incredible opportunity. I would also like to thank all of my teammates, teachers, and coaches for helping me achieve my goals. I want to thank Coach Scott Littlejohn at Flight School, for mentoring me and pushing me to the limits and to be my best. With all of that being said, I am blessed and excited to announce that I am 110% committed to Clemson University!" His offer list included Clemson, Northwestern, SMU, and Texas Tech. As a junior, he had 100 tackles including 16 tackles for loss and 10 sacks. In 2015, he had 89 tackles including eight tackles for loss and six sacks.
