Record Crowd
I heard ya Dabo, and I will be there. Let's be honest, I would have been there regardless, but I still heard him.

Monday night Dabo urged the Clemson family to break the spring game attendance record. He said if we can get 30,000 for a pizza party then we can get 50,000 for a spring game. He said this would probably be the last spring game for greats like Deshaun Watson.

I didn't need Dabo's encouragement, but I am sure some may have needed the pep talk. Yeah, I get that the Masters is that weekend, and hopefully, some of you have tickets. If not, the DVR should have plenty of space for the third round, so come home to Clemson.

Watson is a great reason, but there are so many reasons to come to the spring game other than Watson.

Recruiting is perhaps the best reason. The staff will entertain another impressive group of prospects that weekend. Many of those players have offers from the nation's elite like Alabama and Ohio State, where they get 90,000 for a spring game. It is important to show these top-ranked prospects that Clemson belongs among the nation's elite, and part of that is the fan support, even on a spring game Saturday.

The running backs behind Wayne Gallman are battling for a spot on the depth chart, and players like Adam Choice, Tyshon Dye and C.J. Fuller will get a long look for the rest of the spring including the spring game.

The wide receiver corps is always worth the trip. Where else in this country can you see this much talent at one position?

The offensive line finally had some depth, and there are newcomers that will be interesting to watch.

Some of you will be amazed at how big and how agile Dexter Lawrence is. This is worth the trip.

Maybe the same can be said for other newcomers like Tre Lamar and Shaq Smith.

The secondary is almost all brand new and many will get their most extensive look at players like Mark Fields, Marcus Edmonds, Van Smith and Tanner Muse.

But most importantly, we need to be there to have fun and enjoy this ride. These are the good old days. This is as good as it gets. We need to soak it all in. This program is among the elite programs in the nation, and it took a long time to get here, so let's enjoy the ride. Clemson football feels good. It is fun. It's nice to get in that stadium and watch these coaches and players.

I heard ya Dabo. I will be there. I hope to see y'all there next Saturday, too.
