Hey Mickey -

Have you heard what is planned for the football stadium this season to highlight the national championship? In '81, we had the number one with a tiger paw on the scoreboard for a number of years afterward. This was an additional intimidation factor for teams when they visited Death Valley. We need to maintain this level of intimidation with the 2016 championship so that whichever direction the visiting players look, the national championship banner, logo, etc. is within their view.

Can you give us a glimpse as to what the administration is planning? Will these be on view for the Spring Game or will they debut them at the Kent State game? Personally, I'm in favor of long banners with the championship trophy hanging between the large light poles in the four corners of the stadium. This would also trap even more sound inside the Valley. Thanks.

Phil

Phil,

I haven't heard details, but I do know the Kent State game is the designated game. My guess is they will do something for the spring game as well, but I would guess the unveiling of the new logo on the facade of the stadium and flags will be at the Kent State game.

I love your ideas of the banners on the light poles in each corner. They will also display the logo in the indoor practice facility for the team at some point.

Mickey,

On Tuesday we had another close loss on a three-point shot. Is it time to replace Brad Brownell? The team has not improved and his play calling is questionable to say the least.

Kindest Regards,

Kirk

Kirk,

I don't think now is the time to make that decision. There are three more regular season games to be played, and the ACC tournament is still another opportunity for this team to right the ship. Let's hold off on this discussion until after the season is complete.

Mickey,

Why is Miami playing another Sun Belt team on the road in 2017? Last year they went to Appalachian State, this year they go to Arkansas State. What are the benefits of an ACC program like Miami traveling to Jonesboro, Arkansas ?

-Jeremy

Jeremy,

I have no idea what Miami is thinking. It's not like Arkansas is a hotbed for recruiting. Maybe since they don't draw well for home games, they don't think they are missing any revenue.

Mickey,

Which quarterback do you believe would thrive the most at Clemson University? What is Kelly Bryant's weakest points that he needs to work on to make sure no one will take his job as the 2017 starting QB?

Thanks,

Andrew

Andrew,

The quarterback race is just underway. Spring practice begins next weekend, and the staff will have a month to take a look at the competition. I would be surprised if they name a starter, though. I think Bryant, Cooper, and Johnson all have a legitimate shot at the job. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if two or all three started at some point next season.

Bryant is not a natural passer. He needs to work on his footwork, his accuracy, and his decision making. He is the best athlete of the three but not the best passer.
