Clemson and Auburn vying for two recruits |
RB D.J. Howard of Lincoln, AL, took an official visit to Clemson this past weekend, but said on Monday night that he is still firmly committed to the Tigers of Auburn.
However, Howard will meet with Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney on Tuesday at his school, and Howard admitted that Clemson still has a shot. “I liked it [his visit], and Clemson has a lot of great things,” Howard told TigerNet Monday night. “I kind of just sat back and absorbed everything, took everything in, and saw some great things. I was just up there getting a look around, getting a feel for the campus and things like that. I liked a lot of those things. But right now, I am 95 percent sure I am going to Auburn at this point.” Also, DB and Clemson commitment Darius Robinson of Atlanta has seen Auburn and Georgia Tech come on strong of late. However, Robinson said on Monday night he is still committed to Clemson, and it appears that the Yellow Jackets are off of his radar. “Georgia Tech is not the picture,” he told TigerNet, leaving the two Tiger programs seemingly at the forefront. "I'm just confused right now.” Robinson said that he talked with Clemson recruiter Charlie Harbison on Monday, and will have visits this week from Auburn and Tech. 2010 Football Commitments
