C.J. Barber WR/DB/Special teams Northwestern High School (Rock Hill, SC) 6'2", 215 lbs., 4.5 Selected to the 2003 Shrine Bowl C.J. Barber missed the final two games of the season with torn cartilage in his knee, and was sorely missed as the Trojans were eliminated in the first round of the Big 16 state playoffs by Fort Dorchester. Barber is still one of the most highly recruited players in the state, and says there is no reason for colleges to worry. "I had my knee scoped, and am already running again," Barber said. "My knee will be as strong as it was before, if not stronger." Syracuse, Florida, Georgia, N.C. State, and North Carolina are among the schools who are recruiting Barber, while Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee have offered. "I think a lot of schools plan on talking more to me during the week of the Shrine Bowl," Barber said. "I will make my mind up after I am through making my official visits. I am going to visit South Carolina on January 19, and am trying to set up something with Clemson." David Blackwell is recruiting Barber for Clemson and Skip Holtz is recruiting him for South Carolina.
