I watched our team lose to Miami Sunday. I knew it would not end well as we missed FT after FT. The history of Clemson B-ball is missed FTs.

Yet, I blame the coaches. Each player shot without bending their their legs. Using your legs is all about creating lift in a steady motion. When all you use is your arms you cannot shoot consistently. I would suggest making every player shoot by bending their legs. What they are doing now does not work. So, a little change may help.

Shooting correctly must become instinctive.

I think a lot of basketball people today don't believe in bending knees as much as they used to. Many big men are taught to eliminate that variable. I am not sure what is taught here or other places around the league. I just talked to a former college basketball player who thought many of our problems in the past have been too much knee bend. It is a matter of personal preference. Some believe in more knee bend while others want to eliminate that variable. I can't blame the coaches. I wonder how much time these guys stay in the gum and shoot on their own though.

We discussed this a couple of weeks ago. In the latest Historical Photo from 1961 on TigerNet, it shows the team running down the hill in all white uniforms. I find this very interesting. We must have worn white at home for an extended period of time. The last time I brought it up was from a photo in 1972. I have been going to games since 1977, and obviously I have never seen this. Wonder what color we wore on the road? I would love for someone to do a chronological slide show on our uniforms through the years. Can't wait for August 31st. Enjoy your blog. I love the all white uniforms they wore in the late sixties. I love the LSU-type shoulder stripes. Throwback jerseys are being used across sports and I would love to see these comeback for one week a year. I am not sure how many teams wore white at home in those days and am not sure what we wore on the road. Maybe some of our readers can add comments below.

This email is to remind everyone who is fortunate to have tickets to Clemson football to always be thankful. My father had season tickets for thirty three years. I was fortunate enough to have season tickets for seven but our time has come to an end. Dad is eighty four and was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease a couple of years ago. Last season was a struggle with the heat and balance issues. He announced halfway through the season this was his final year of Tiger football. He lives in Charlotte, N.C. and I drove him to the games and back.

I see the frustrations of fellow Tigers on the board about parking, ticket prices, jerks sitting around them, and my favorite...$4.00 waters. Now that my time has ended to be there every Saturday they run down the hill I reflect on the wonderful years I had with family and friends and above all I am thankful.

My parents had tickets beside their best friends for thirty years. I relished the wins and unfortunately will never forget the heartbreaking losses but I mostly remember the time spent with family and friends. I had season tickets with my younger daughter for five years and those were very precious years. We would travel to Charlotte on Friday and then take my parents to the game. It was very special to spend that quality time with her and I was proud she knew what was happening in the game. The last two years my mom and daughter let their tickets go and it was just dad and me. I knew the end was near so I focused every game weekend on the time we had together. The radio was never turned on for the ride to Clemson. We talked the whole way, mostly about football but also just father and son stuff. I still seek his advice often and he is my hero. The ride home for him was spent sleeping most of the way. I did a lot of thinking about time and how it was now my turn to take care of him. A very small price to pay for all the wonderful life lessons he taught me.

I know this is long but I want everyone who has tickets to be thankful and cherish each and every trip to Clemson. Your time will end one day so enjoy every game day. Go ahead and complain but if you are lucky enough to be with friends and family at a game you are lucky! I will make it to one or two games a year but I will never attend another game with my father. I refuse to be sad. I will instead thank God for the years he and I spent at my favorite place. Go Tigers!!!!

Any chance to steal a win in College Park Saturday? I hate the Twerps!

I think the Tigers match up well against Maryland. However Clemson is only 10-52 all-time in College Park. Clemson has won only once on the road in ACC play this year and Maryland 15-2 at home this season. It looks like a tough matchup because of the venue. If somehow they would agree to move the game to Littlejohn, we could win it but I doubt they would agree to that one.
