Watson, who has offers from Clemson and Central Florida, said the best part was getting to spend time with the Clemson coaches.

"I enjoyed the visit a lot," Watson told TigerNet. "I got to eat with all the coaches and hang out with Coach Morris. The basketball game was really cool, and the campus is really beautiful. I enjoyed it."

He said the Clemson coaches told him to keep up the hard work.

"They told me to keep working hard, and they are going to stay in touch," he said. "They told me I am welcome to come back to Clemson whenever I feel like it. I am not sure when I will be able to make it back up, but I want to be there for the spring game."

Watson led the state in touchdowns and was the first quarterback in Georgia high school history to throw for 3,000 yards and rush for more than 1,000 yards. As a sophomore, Watson was 200-of-327 passing for 2,914 yards and 39 touchdowns with six interceptions. He rushed for 943 yards and 14 touchdowns on 140 carries. As a freshman, Watson recorded 1,759 yards passing and 17 touchdowns throughout the entire 10-game regular season and added 485 yards rushing and four scores. Watson took an unofficial visit to the Clemson-North Carolina game in 2011. He took an unofficial visit to Clemson for Elite Junior Day in Jan. 2012.
