Born in Clinton, SC on March 20, 1935

I was an Army Brat moving every year or two. I lived in places like SC, GA, NC, NJ, MO, Philippines and Germany. Graduated from Heidelberg American High School in 1953.

I attended Clemson for four years and received my degree in Electrical Engineering and my commission as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army Signal Corps in 1957.

I worked for Bendix Radio in Towson, MD for six months and then two years in the Army stationed at Fort Monmouth, NJ, Fort Huachuca, AZ and Yuma Test Station, AZ mostly testing surveillance drone aircraft. In December, 1959, I went to work for Lockheed Missiles and Space Company at Vandenberg AFB tracking missile launches and orbiting satellites. After four years I transferred to Sunnyvale, CA and worked as a Mission Controller in the Satellite Test Center. Travel included Vandenberg, New Hampshire, Guam, Hawaii, Kodiac, Thule and the Seychelle Islands. After four years in the STC I disappeared for 23 years into the secret bowels of Lockheed. In 1990 I was degaussed and released back into the civilian community as a retiree.

I now spend a lot of time with my six grandchildren (preferably one at a time), I teach school children about the wilderness, farm environment, and Ohlone Indians, I volunteer both academic and athletic for Clemson, and I spend far to much time on TigerNet.

I am a Registered Electrical Engineer (PE)and a Director in the local CSPE Chapter, an elected director in the Alumni Association representing District 19, and the IPTAY Representative/West Coast Regional Chairman for IPTAY.

I return to Clemson three times a year; Homecoming, Reunion and Leadership Clemson (Feb.) Weekends. I still have relatives in Saint Matthews and Orangeburg, SC.
