Nation's top 2018 defensive prospect and Clemson 5-star defensive end commit Xavier Thomas was in a serious car accident in West Virginia on Monday morning according to his Twitter account.
"Deer ran out, swerved, hit a ditch, flipped over & hit a tree," Thomas posted. "No seatbelt, Blessed to walk away from this with just bruises and scratches."
Thomas was lucky as he was not seriously injured in the accident with just a few bruises as his elbow protected his head during the collision. The 5-star prospect told Clemson target Jackson Carman on Twitter that he will now use his seatbelt "25/8" which is more than 24/7.
Check out the damage to his car below in the following pictures.

There is no excuse for it but I was not wearing my seatbelt b/c I was thinking short term and the hotel was 1/2 mile away from where I went https://t.co/2bK1cVsAbv

Trust from now on, I will definitely wear it no matter the distance. ????
