Rendrick Taylor's early commitment to Clemson continued the Tiger's momentum in the state and helped at position where they need help with this class. The Marlboro County wide receiver committed to the Tigers during a three-day camp at Clemson for high school recruits.
"It just felt right to go with Clemson," says Taylor. "I knew the staff well and I felt comfortable with everyone there. I like the people and the coaches. I really think the offense suits me also. It was everything I wanted." "Taylor is a beast," says a high school rival coach. "He is so big and strong that he posseses a match up problem for us. He runs well for a big man and has good agility but his size and strength is what caused us problems." The 6-foot-2, 210 pound Taylor is ranked one of the top five rising seniors in the state of South Carolina this year and already had offers from South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Florida State North Carolina, North Carolina State, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Oklahoma, Alabama, Stanford, and Miami. Last season as a junior, Taylor recorded 30 catches for 803 yards and 11 touchdowns and on defense the safety had eight interceptions. He returned two kicks for touchdowns as well. Taylor could graduate in December and enroll in college in January and participate in spring practice of 2005. Taylor is a national top 100-type player. He is a national recruit with great size and strength. Coaches love his athleticism and the chance he may graduate in December. Clemson's in-state presence has seen a significant upswing.
