More on Taylor...

Will Taylor - 3-star ATH - Irmo, SC

Committed since: 9/30/20.

Listed size: 6-0 175.

Brings to Clemson: During the recruiting process, Taylor was being eyed as the next successful in-state QB to make an impact as a receiver for the Tigers, following in the footsteps of one Hunter Renfrow. He was listed as a QB by the Tigers on Signing Day, however. Taylor moved to Palmetto State power Dutch Fork this season and thrived with 32 total TDs and 268.5 yards per over 10 games. Taylor was first a Clemson baseball commitment before getting a football offer over the summer.

Depth chart fit: Taylor joins QB signee Bubba Chandler as planning on a Clemson baseball and football career, while having a shot at being drafted in the spring. Clemson QB coach Brandon Streeter indicated on Signing Day that Taylor will start in a QB role for the Tigers with plans to play receiver as well. Down the road there, he has a chance to compete in the slot where 4-star Troy Stellato currently headlines the 2021 class and Amari Rodgers is expected to move on after the season. The versatile Brannon Spector is a contender there as well for next season.

Brandon Streeter on Taylor: "We're just so fired up about this kid. He's going to bring so much to the table. He's an unbelievable athlete. He's going to play football and baseball here. A center fielder who can really run...Just dynamic with the ball in his hands. We're going to bring him in as a quarterback just to learn the offense, especially that first year. Get that offense big-picture under his belt and you can see what he can do with his arm. Just a threat. Making things happen on the move. Can escape the pocket...We're excited that he has that dual-threat mentality and being able to see the whole field and being able to do that at quarterback and also receiver."
