Mike Davis (5-11, 208) of Columbia, SC has narrowed his list down to six schools. He has been to UNC and Kentucky. Davis will take official visits to Auburn, Alabama and Clemson. He will take an unofficial visit to South Carolina. Here is what he had to say about each school:

UNC-“I went up there for an unofficial visit but I liked it so much I had to take an official visit. Coach Brad Lawing is recruiting me for UNC. They have a beautiful campus. I am close to some of their players like Ronnie McGill the running back from Clover. The coaches are very nice and their academics are excellent.”

KY-“I went to Kentucky this week. Lexington is a nice place. It has nice surroundings and has a good feel to it. The school is also good. I think I could fit in good there.”

Auburn-“I go there the 21st of January. Auburn has a good football tradition and they had a real good season this year. I think it is a good position for me to go because they are graduating two great backs.”

Alabama-“Sparky Woods is recruiting for Alabama. Like Auburn they have a good tradition. I would love to go there. It has a good feel. They are also graduating two great backs.”

Clemson-“I go to Clemson on the 14th. Brad Scott is recruiting me for them. He is one of the best recruiters and he is a good guy. I like Clemson. I like the place and I like that it is an in-state school and I could go there and play.”

South Carolina-“I am very interested in South Carolina. Coach Spurrier came and they have a wide-open offense. I love Coach Stockstill as a recruiter. He is one of the best recruiters. I will take an unofficial there.”

I want to feel comfortable with the campus, the coaches and the players,” Davis added. “I want to look very hard at the academic side of things.”
