D'Vontrey Richardson appears to be Clemson's top target at quarterback for the class of 2006. In fact, the staff may single out Richardson as the sole target and use that to their advantage.
Clearly, Clemson has been involved early and often and that has had an effect on Richardson. "Clemson has been there from the beginning. Other schools have been there for awhile too, but Clemson has stayed on me very consistently. Clemson and Georgia are the two schools that stand out for me right now." Florida State and Tennessee are amongst a host of schools that are recruiting the dual threat quarterback. Richardson is currently playing baseball, but he expects to focus more on recruiting after baseball. "I have been really busy lately, and I justh haven't had a chance to really sit down and look at things. My teammate Lavelle (Parker) is running track, and we always talked about playing together. We will get back together very soon and look at our best options. Clemson still stands out as the best possibility for us to play together. We are going to their 7-on-7 passing camp, and some other camps, hopefully after we are finished with camps we can make a decision on a school." We will have a close eye on Richardson during Clemson's camp as he could potentially be reeled in while on campus. He is a very talented quarterback, who is currently saying all the right things in Clemson's favor.
