Nick Prochak had been awaiting his first offer. Last week, his offer came in. Clemson linebackers coach David Blackwell called with the good news.

“Coach Blackwell called and let me know that I had an offer from them. There was not much said other than that.”

How did Prochak react to the offer?

“I was ecstatic. You never know if you are going to get offered. I knew it was late and Clemson was getting close to full. They have always been one of my top schools so it was a pretty big deal to have an offer from them.”

Was Prochak close to committing?

“I wouldn’t so close, but it has been something I thought about. Clemson is a great school and the program is really on the rise. I have been to several games there and the atmosphere is exactly what you would want to play in.”

Prochak played quarterback in high school, but he was offered as a tight end or outside linebacker.

“I knew I wasn’t going to play quarterback in college. Clemson has recruited me as an athlete all along. I will play whatever position I am asked to play in college. It is just a great opportunity to have.”

South Carolina is also continuing to evaluate Prochak and he could potentially visit both in-state schools officially.
