JC Neal made his intentions clear very early in his process that he would be headed out of the state of South Carolina. Neal currently lists his top five in no order as Maryland, NC State, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, and Auburn.

"Those are my top five as it stands now. Of the two in-state schools, USC is maybe the one that I am still giving a look at."

Neal shared what each school in his top five offers him.

"I went to a game at Maryland when I was younger, and feel in love with it. I loved the atmosphere and the fans. I was a Maryland fan growing up, so I wanted to check them out.

NC State has a really good coaching staff. I have a great relationship with the running backs coach. I was impressed by the facilities. They have really made a lot of improvements in that area.

Virginia Tech is in the same boat with NC State. I really liked their coaching staff, and they have nice facilities. I thought they were going to beat USC, but the offensive pass interference call changed the momentum of the game. They made a real good showing against the #1 team in the country.

I have family that lives in the Atlanta area. Georgia Tech is not too far from home, but not too close. It would be nice playing somewhere that I had family in the area.

Auburn has a good reputation of putting running backs in the NFL. If I keep my head straight they would give me a good opportunity to make it to the next level."

Neal plans to begin setting up his official visits this coming week.
