(6-6, 260), OL/DL, Sr., Charlotte Catholic: Notre Dame recruit was all-conference, all-state and all-county as a junior.

Elijah Hood (6-1, 203), RB/DE/LB, So., Charlotte Catholic: Has 4.6 speed and will be a rare sophomore starter. Had great preseason.

Keith McAfee, Olympic (6-0, 220), LB, Sr.: MEGA-7 defensive player of the year had 127 tackles, including 15 for loss last season.

Outlook

Hood has been special for Catholic in preseason and will run behind a big offensive line highlighted by Harrell, the All-American. The Cougars look like a 3AA state title contender. Olympic's defense should pose problems for everyone in the league. Garinger will try to back up its breakthrough 7-5 season from 2010, and how will Berry do moving up to 3A?
