"Martin has had a great offseason and summer," the coach said. "He has put on some weight ... some good weight. He came out of camp having one of the better camps he has had since he has been here. He led the team as far as the leadership aspect goes."

praised the defensive end's "motor," his ability to play hard play after play, and addressed the comparisons to Da'Quan Bowers and Ricky Sapp, former Red Raiders who went to Clemson to form the "Bamberg Bookends."
"I think Ricky was a little bit faster," the coach said. "Da'Quan was a little bit bigger. (Aiken) is a little bit meaner ... and stronger."
Clemson fans are surely salivating at the prospect of adding Aiken to the Tigers front. But, first, he has one year left in Bamberg. And, to prepare, the already strong player spent the summer in the weight room.
"Right now, I'm benching 360 and squatting 505," Aiken said. "My first time (in the weight room) in eighth grade, man, I bench pressed 115 ... if that.
"But, I got stronger because of the fact that we work so hard, every day. Every day we step in there, we work hard. Most guys might complain about being a little sore, but our guys suck it up, get in the weight room and work hard.
