Crestwood High School has recently sent Maurice Nelson and Damien Wright to Clemson and South Carolina respectively. This season expect Derrick Loney to entertain interest from both in-state schools.

"Clemson and South Carolina are both showing interest. They haven't offered yet, but I get a lot of mail from them. It would be nice if both offered. I would like to play close to home."

Does either school hold the edge?

"I am very interested in what South Carolina is going to do. Steve Spurrier will pass the ball more. They hired a really good coaching staff on defense, so they should be fun to watch."

Georgia, Georgia Tech, Duke, and Maryland are all showing interest in Loney. Loney says academics will play a very important role in his decision.

"I am going to take visits to each school I am looking at before I make a decision. Academics are very important to me. I want to look at the academic support each school provides before I make a decision."

Loney says he will camp at South Carolina this summer, but he is not sure of any other camps at this time.
