Each year the Sunshine State produces stars that emerge in college despite not being ranked in the top 100 in the country. One player that fits in that category in the Class of 2005 is Javares Knight. This is a 6-5 wide receiver who had a good enough junior season that college coaches will take a long look this fall.

"I had a pretty good junior season," says Knight. "I am getting bigger and stronger and hope to get even better this coming season. Last year I caught 24 passes for 540 yards and seven touchdowns."

Knight says he has not received any offer yet but thinks they will come. "I get letters every day and a bunch of coaches came by my school this spring. Tennessee, Clemson, Iowa State, Arkansas, Central Florida and Louisville are the ones that come to mind."

The Florida A&M High School product took an unofficial visit to Clemson this spring. "I liked the town of Clemson," says Knight. "The people there were really nice. I liked it up there because of how laid back those guys were. Coach (Dabo) Swinney talked to me and my dad. It was junior day and there were a bunch of prospects there."

Knight is a good student who says he has over a 3.0 GPA.

"I am going to take my time and look around," says Knight. "This summer I will go to FSU, Florida and Central Florida. I also will take the SAT early."

Clemson will take 2-4 wide receivers in the Class of 2004. A couple of these signees could play other positions. They Tiger staff will take a long look at Knight throughout the 2004 season.
