Marcus Nelums - Tight End
Height: 6-4   Weight: 200   Hometown: Columbia, SC (Keenan HS)   Class: 2005
ESPN: NR

Marcus Nelums is a big athletic tight end/defensive end prospect this season. He is drawing interest from South Carolina, Georgia, and Wofford. He says Wofford is close to offering.

Nelums attended several camps this summer including ones at Clemson and Georgia. "I didn't get to finish the camp at Clemson. I hurt my ankle, but I am back at 100% now."

He has been putting out a lot of effort this summer to prepare himself for a breakout campaign. "I've been working real hard. I've been running a lot of sprints, and lifting a lot of weights. I am trying to improve my stance and start."

Nelums could play either position in college, but he would prefer to play defense. "I love to hit. I am quick so I can get around the corner fast and make the tackle. As a tight end, I do the fundamentals well blocking and catching."

Keenan has had some struggles recently, but Nelums will try and put them on his back this season. "I feel it is my responsibility to carry the team to the playoffs, but I know I will not be going it alone. My teammates will be right there with me."

Nelums has matched his football success in the classroom with a 3.8 GPA.
