From The State:
But even though he has secured a scholarship to a school in the ACC, there are still whispers and innuendo about Roper’s ability to play at such a high level. It starts with his size. He stands 6-feet tall, and weighs 160 pounds. But, while not intimidating physically, his smooth left-handed jump shot and the ability to beat defenders off the dribble make him one of the top talents in the state. “It’s believable in a way,” Roper said of his critics. “I’m 6-foot, 160 pounds. But I’m still maturing and I’ve going to do everything in my power to get bigger and stronger. Basketball is basketball, either you can play it or you can’t no matter what size you are. Allen Iverson was my size. That is one of my motivations.”
“Baseball was always fun to me but I just became burned out on it,” Roper said. “It was a little bit slow for me. I started taking up basketball more seriously then.”
