Hobby Continues To Target Committed Back |
One running back that we have yet to list on our board is Anthony Allen. Allen has been a key target for the Tigers, but he was a fairly early commitment to Louisville. Despite his commitment to Louisville Marion Hobby still chose to recruit him for the Tigers.
“Coach Hobby asked if it would be okay to still recruit me after I committed. I told him that was okay. He has always respected my commitment and Clemson has remained on my list.”
How does Allen view his commitment to the Cardinals?
“I am committed. I may visit Clemson and Boston College. Those are the only other schools I am looking at besides Louisville.”
Allen wants to visit Clemson the weekend the Tigers play Florida State. Allen says he has seen Clemson play on television this season, and he was surprised by what he saw.
“I always thought Clemson was a passing team. They are running the ball a lot this year, which is a good sign for me. Their running game makes me want to look closer at them.”
Coach Hobby is trying to set up an official visit with Allen on January 13th.
“Coach Hobby wants me to come in the weekend of their banquet. I told him I would think about it, and then get back to him. He calls me every week, so I am able to stay in touch. I keep him updated on things with me, and he lets me know how things are in Clemson each week.”
We will continue to track Allen as the Tigers are beginning to make a push on the talented back.
