The Tigers kicking struggles have been well noted early in the season. Jad Dean is now one for one since replacing Stephen Furr after his 43 yard field goal against Virginia. Jad Dean's play the rest of the season could determine whether the Tigers add another kicker in this recruiting class.
Mike Benzer is one kicker who has caught our eye. Benzer is having a strong senior season. On October 1, he kicked a 54 yard field goal that broke the school record that had stood since 1963. Last week, he was six for six on touchbacks, and three for three on PATs. He also add two field goals, 46 and 34 yards respectively. With two kickers on scholarship already (Dean and Cole Chason), the Tigers may only be able to offer a walk-on invitation. Benzer has shown interest in the Tigers and could be a welcomed addition come fall camp.
