Four-star 2017 defensive end Jordan Williams out of Virginia Beach (VA) Cox picked Clemson over his other finalists Tennessee, Virginia, and Virginia Tech at a high school ceremony on Saturday evening at Frank W. Cox Auditorium.

Williams put on a matching orange Clemson hat and shirt as he committed to Clemson in front of his excited family and close friends.

"I want to thank God for putting me in the situation that I am in today," Williams said. "I want to thank my parents for the sacrifices that made for me to be successful and all the support that they have given me. Also, I would like to say thank you to all the Universities that have extended scholarship out to me, it is truly a blessing to be a part of that." And now without further ado, the next four years I will be furthering my academic career at ... [picks up hat] Clemson University."

Williams is a consensus 4-star recruit by all the major recruiting services and rated as high as the fifth-best defensive end in the country according to Rivals.com.

He is the No. 255 player in the ESPN300 and has 28 offers including from Clemson, Florida, Marshall, Maryland, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, South Carolina, Southern California, Temple, Texas State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

As a junior, he had 39 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, five sacks, two interceptions, seven pass deflections, a forced fumble and recovered two fumbles including one returned for a touchdown.

TigerNet spoke to Williams recently after his three-day visit to Clemson for the All-In Cookout.

“The whole visit was great," Williams said. "It was definitely great to be able to get around all of the commits and all of the recruits and all of the coaches and the different families,” Williams told TigerNet. “It was great to get back on campus and eat all of the food and play all of the games and just be a part of everything. My visit the next day seeing all of the facilities and meeting with all of the academic people and spending time with people other than the football coaches that I see every day was definitely awesome. I was able to sit and listen to them talk about what I would be going through every day and different things they would have me going through with my parents."

Williams is the 12th commit of the 2017 Clemson recruiting class.
