Ricky Dixon - Wide Receiver

ESPN: NR

One of the first wide receivers Clemson targeted for 2006 was Louisiana wideout Ricky Dixon. At his size (6-3, 210 lbs), Dixon is a natural playmaker. Dixon had over 1700 all-purpose yards and 28 touchdowns as a junior. Dixon already holds several offers all across the country.

"I have offers from Clemson, UCLA, LSU, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Alabama, Kansas State, Florida, and Florida State. Coach Burton Burns is recruiting me from Clemson. They offered me pretty early. It is tough to say if I have any favorites right now."

It is clear that Clemson will have to battle virtually everyone for Dixon. Dixon will be mentioned right with defensive tackle Al Woods as the top player in Louisiana. Last season, new LSU head coach Les Miles was able to keep Ryan Perrilloux in-state, and one would think LSU is the team to beat for Dixon.

"I like LSU, but staying in-state is not a big factor for me. Actually, I would not mind going out of state. I am going to look around at several schools before I make any decision. LSU may or may not be the best school for me."
