In the fall, Brent Davis will look to add to his football success, but he has already achieved great things off the field.

"This summer my Brother and I went down to the Dominican Republic with our church for a week. We spent the week ministering to the community and the children. We painted a church, and we prayed and did human videos for this town that had a heavy amount of witchcraft. We saved 700 people and reached over a thousand."

Davis spiritual success rivals his football success considering he has offers from LSU, Purdue, North Carolina, South Carolina, and is receiving interest from Miami, Florida, and Georgia.

The only football camp Davis attended this summer was at the University of Florida. "We did a lot of warm ups. They took us through meetings that they go through with their team. The last day we worked on offense and defense. I thought it went well, but it was a great learning experience for me."

Davis has been going through a rigorous off-season workout schedule. "I've been trying to stay in shape, trying to add a lot of weight in muscle. Days where I am not in the weight room, I do at least 300 push ups. I have been reading my Bible to keep my mind fresh for academics. I start back school August 9th, and I want to keep my grades up."

Last season, Mainland High School was the 5-A State Champions in Florida. The bar has not been lowered this season. "I expect to repeat as State Champs. We have to stay focused and take it one game at a time." Davis is a perfectionist who is not satisfied with just winning. "I hate it when a team even scores on us much less beats us. I want to be perfect."
