Dabo Swinney talks about the 2014 recruiting class from Wednesday's recruiting webcast:
I was kidding people here earlier about when we signed our class in ’09. The only people here were our wives. Now we have our fourth Top 15 class in a row, and we have a lot of people celebrating the day with us and it’s been a lot of fun. I am excited about this class, and I’m excited about our start to 2015 as well. We are off to a great start for 2015 and it’s gonna be probably our biggest class. This will be our biggest group. This will be the first time since I’ve been the head coach that we will have a veteran team of seniors and juniors. We only had 10 scholarship seniors and lost three juniors, and last year we only had 10 scholarship seniors and lost one junior. I think we have 19 or 20 seniors this year, so next year’s class will be critical as well. The way recruiting is – it never stops. There is a lot of work to be done but we are off to a great start already. I am telling you this is a great class as far as talent, speed and athleticism. All the great things you want in your group. But these are good people. This is a great group of people and as great a group of families as we’ve ever brought in there. Great group of parents. Great homes. Great mentors and grandmothers. And they all come with them. We are exciting about a new group of people joining the Clemson family. It is exciting to see a group of people like this.

– He is special and he has been. This is a guy that called me on Signing Day two years ago and told me he wanted to be a Clemson Tiger. I don’t know that we’ve ever signed a guy with more talent. He is the real deal. He can run, he is big, and he has a chance to develop physically. He has a chance to be a 220-pound type of kid. He has a great foundation with the program he is coming from and the system that they ran. He will represent this program in a great way.

– Receiver is obviously a position where we need to retool. We have three guys that got here at mid-term. I really like these guy. Demarre has great ball skills and size and an ability to make plays after the catch. He has been in a lot of big games and he is just a winner. He is a multi-dimensional player and will be able to play any of the positions. He is very smart and a guy I am excited about.

– We signed him last year but he had to go to Fork Union. This guy can motor. I think he is a Jaron Brown with a little more speed and athleticism. Jaron Brown played as a rookie a lot and played in the NFL with the Cardinals this year. He will be a very versatile player and we can move him around and he has an ability to stretch the field.

– He is a fun guy. He is electric and fun to watch with a ball in his hands. He is an excellent route runner and a hard guy to cover 1-on-1 because he has that great burst and quickness. He has an ability to separate, especially at the break point in his routes. He is another one of those guys that will make a difference for us in the return game. He also just loves to play football. This kid here is special. He was up at 5:30 every morning in high school to go work out.

is a full grown man. He is coming from Jeff Davis’ high school. He is gonna be very low maintenance as a player and he will be one of the toughest guys on our team. You can mark that down. He is really gonna be some kind of special player here at Clemson. I think he is going to wear No. 45 like everybody wants to talk about around here. He will be a special player.

is another guy from a great family that is just a good football player. He is the epitome of what you want in a linebacker. Speed, toughness and he’s smart. This guy right here is a cold-blooded football player. He loves it and every part about it. He never says a word and just goes about his business and plays violent.

is probably one of the best athletes we’ve signed around here in a while. He has huge upside and potential. He is just big and fast and athletic. He has the speed to stretch the field and he can also be a force in the running game.
