Crowell Not Closing The Door
Clemson is looking to sign one defensive tackle, and it appears Kareem Crowell sits atop the wish list. The problem is Crowell is verbally committed to Auburn. However, Crowell maintains he will visit Clemson.
"I am going to visit Clemson, but it is not the same weekend as Marcus (Udell) and DeAndre (McDaniel). I am coming the weekend after. I have told my recruiter at Auburn that I will take a couple other visits."
How does Crowell characterize his verbal commitment to Auburn?
"I would say it is fairly firm. The door is open for Clemson, but right now I expect to sign with Auburn. DeAndre and Coach Swinney are the big reasons I am visiting Clemson."
What would it take to turn Crowell?
"On my official visit, if I realized that I needed to be somewhere other than Auburn, then I would change my mind. Right now, Auburn is the school I feel is the best fit for me academically and football wise."
We will continue to track Crowell in the coming weeks.
