Clemson has offered 4-star defensive end Julian Okwara from Charlotte, NC on Sunday night. Okwara texted TigerNet soon after he received the good news from Coach Pearman and Coach Hobby.
He has offers from Boston College, California, Clemson, Duke, Elon, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, West Virginia and others. He visited Clemson for its Junior Day over the weekend and came away very impressed. "My visit to Clemson was great, from the start of the day till the end," said Okwara. "I got to watch them practice and them do board drills and it was exciting watching the team get after it." The 4-star defensive end was able to spend some quality time with Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables. "I got to talk to coach Venables and he talked to me individually about how I fit in everything they do in their defense. I play like I'm 240 and hit like it, run fast and that I could fit the position like Vic Beasley." In 2014, he had 90 tackles, 10 sacks, 3 pass deflections and two forced fumbles. Okwara said that he does not have any favorites at this moment in his recruitment. An interesting side note is that Okwara just began playing football in the eighth grade.
