from Mobile, Alabama on Wednesday evening according to his twitter account.
TigerNet spoke with Johnson on Thursday and he is excited about the Clemson offer. Marion Hobby watched his team's football practice on Wednesday and told his coach that he had an offer.
"I love it, their defense and defensive line is a forced to be reckoned with so I am definitely happy about what could happen," said Johnson.
The 4-star defensive lineman prospect does not have a favorite so far in his recruitment. "All of the schools that have offered are my top schools."
He is very grateful for the offers so far but will keep working to get better. "I am blessed to be in the place I am in right now and just because I've been offered does not mean I am satisfied."
He describes his style of play as "versatile". "I can play both defensive end and defensive tackle but I can use my power to my advantage a lot of plays as well as a good pass rush."
Johnson has early offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Duke, Ole Miss, and Vanderbilt. Auburn was his first college offer.
As a sophomore, he had 38 tackles, four sacks, three quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery to lead his team to the Class 5A title.
He plans to take an unofficial visit to Clemson in the near future.
