Later in the day, DeShaun Watson tweets: "I'm still a Clemson Tiger!"
Watson led the state in touchdowns and was the first quarterback in Georgia high school history to throw for 3,000 yards and rush for more than 1,000 yards. As a sophomore, Watson was 200-of-327 passing for 2,914 yards and 39 touchdowns with six interceptions. He rushed for 943 yards and 14 touchdowns on 140 carries. As a freshman, Watson recorded 1,759 yards passing and 17 touchdowns throughout the entire 10-game regular season and added 485 yards rushing and four scores.
Watson gained a great feel for the Tigers’ program this fall when he was a guest at five of the Tigers’ home games. He took an unofficial visit to Clemson for Elite Junior Day in Jan. 2012.
