Chancellor Will Visit UNC
Demerick Chancellor committed to Coach David Blackwell after an in home visit about a month ago. Chancellor committed without even stepping foot on the campus at Clemson. Last weekend, Chancellor finally got to see the campus that he would be attending the next four years.
"This was my first time to Clemson. I liked the trip a lot. It was a quiet town, I don’t have to worry about any trouble like down here. Hanging with Reggie was the highlight, he showed me a good time. I liked the banquet."
Chancellor did have some flight problems on the way home from Clemson.
"The right engine wouldn't start before we took off. The flight was ok though."
The coaching staff set down and met with Chancellor and his mom before they left Clemson. New offensive coordinator Rob Spence gave some words of encouragement to Chancellor.
"It was my first time sitting down with Coach Bowden. The offensive coordinator showed some plays they are going to run that he ran at Toledo. Talked about how they would fit me, cause I have a lot speed. He liked getting his players out in the open field."
Chancellor is a firm commitment, but will take a visit to North Carolina this upcoming weekend. Regardless, Coach Blackwell and possibly Coach Bowden will go down to Miami for an in home visit on Wednesday to wrap everything up.
"I am firm to Clemson, but I will take my last visit to UNC. Coach Blackwell is coming down Wednesday, I am not sure if Coach Bowden is coming with him."
We will also keep an eye out on the status of Chancellor's twin brother, Chris, who had a great visit to Clemson last weekend, and is giving the Tigers very strong consideration.
