Byrd Down To Four
CJ Byrd is the undisputed number one player in South Carolina this year. Byrd is a high caliber player on the field and is very high character off the field. Some reports had Byrd to be in attendance for the Clemson-NC State game this past weekend.
"No, I was completely exhausted on Saturday. I didn't even watch many games on television. There was a possibility that I was going to the Clemson game, but I never said that I would definitely be there.
I did talk to Reggie (Merriweather) about the game on Monday. He is doing alright, but said he had a black eye but it had already started going down. He will be ready for a big game this weekend against Miami."
Byrd has already taken an official visit to Southern Cal. Now, it looks like there will only be three other official visits for Byrd.
"Florida is no longer on my list. Most likely, I will only take four official visits. There are a couple of dates I am working on between Clemson and Georgia right now. I am gonna try and make it up for the Clemson-South Carolina game, but nothing is for sure yet."
Last week, as expected Byrd was selected to the Shrine Bowl.
"It is a great honor. I give all the credit to the players and coaches around me who make it possible for me to do what I do. I am not real familiar with the North Carolina guys. There will be a ton of talent on both sides of the ball. I am looking forward to the challenge. It should be a lot of fun."
Also, Byrd continues to pass out high praises for teammate Justin Wheeler.
"He has a couple of offers now, and things are really starting to pick up for him. Coaches are becoming more interested and the offers are going to start coming in."
Look for an update on Justin Wheeler in the coming days.
