Clemson added a big target to its 2019 recruiting class on Saturday.
3-star Riverdale, Georgia tight end Jaelyn Lay (6-6 220) committed to Clemson while on campus for Junior Day. Lay called Clemson a "childhood dream school" after his offer in January on his first Junior Day visit this year. @ClemsonFB #ALLIN #CU23 pic.twitter.com/UCZdd5T8W9 Before the Tigers' interest, Lay's notable offers included Oregon State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Cincinnati, Indiana and Central Florida, but shortly after Clemson's offer, Georgia, Ole Miss, Maryland, Louisville, Georgia Tech and Miami all jumped in the mix. Lay is rated as the No. 10 tight end in the nation by Rivals. He joins 3-star receiver Brannon Spector on offense, as well as 4-star safety Joseph Charleston in the Clemson 2019 class.
