Asher Allen is one of the most coveted defensive back prospects in the country. Allen was scheduled to visit Clemson this past weekend, but he was unable to make the trip. He does plan to visit Clemson this summer.
"Last summer, my coach took us to Furman. After Furman, we stopped by Clemson. We are planning on doing the same thing this year. Hopefully, I will get to see a little more this year, because Clemson has offered me and they are in my top five right now." Who does Allen has in his top five currently? "LSU, Georgia, Clemson, Notre Dame, and Auburn. I am still looking around at some schools. Virginia Tech has offered, and I like the way they play so I might give them a look as well." Burton Burns is recruiting Allen for the Tigers, and it appears once again Coach Burns strong efforts in Atlanta have the Tigers in with one of the country's top prospects. "Coach Burns is a very straight up guy. You could not ask to have a better recruiter than Coach Burns. He recruited my boy Ray Ray (McElrathbey) last year, and I know Ray Ray loved Coach Burns. He said Coach Burns is a guy that you can always count on, whether it is football or just life in general. We have not had a lot of direct contact, but I can see how all of that would be true." Georgia may be the team to beat for Allen, but the Tigers are a solid contender. Allen says he will take five official visits before making a decision. This most likely will be a battle that ends in January.
